Exposing the thinking, the money trail and the puppet strings behind the world-changing crises and wars of the last four decades, The Shock Doctrine is the gripping story of how America’s 'free market' policies have come to dominate the world-- through the exploitation of disaster-shocked people and countries http://www.naomiklein.org/shock-doctrine

The Prisoner was one of the most original dramas ever aired on television. Brainchild of producer and star Patrick McGoohan, the series portrays a top-secret government agent who resigns his position only to be immediately abducted and whisked away to an enigmatic, isolated seaside community known only as ''The Village.'' Confined in this resort-like, yet sinister town, Number 6 (the new ''identity'' given to him by his captors) soon learns that no one can be trusted, and that those in charge (whose governmental and political affiliations are unknown) will take extreme measures to break him and learn the reasons behind his resignation.

It has it all - colourful location footage, an imperturbable Number 2, iconic imagery, and a cracking plot. It has twists, it has turns, it has George Coulouris as Man with Stick . When people remember The Prisoner fondly, they remember this episode. They remember Arrival. They remember Free For All and The Chimes Of Big Ben. The bold, well-constructed, action-adventure stories. Checkmate is The Prisoner playing a strong game...

The first of these, titled initially The Prisoner by Thomas M. Disch (later republished as I Am Not a Number!), was issued in 1969 (some editions carry a 1967 copyright date but this refers to the series, not the book). Considered non-canonical, it details the recapture of the Prisoner after he had been brainwashed to forget his original experience in the Village, and his struggles to remember what was taken from him and to escape again from the Village (or another Village). Disch is often erroneously credited as the creator of the TV series, as he is the writer of the first novel based upon the show.

Earthlings - documentary With an in-depth study into pet stores, puppy mills and animals shelters, as well as factory farms, the leather and fur trades, sports and entertainment industries, and finally the medical and scientific profession, EARTHLINGS uses hidden cameras and never before seen footage to chronicle the day-to-day practices of some of the largest industries in the world, all of which rely entirely on animals for profit. Powerful, informative and thought-provoking, EARTHLINGS is by far the most comprehensive documentary ever produced on the correlation between nature, animals, and human economic interests. There are many worthy animal rights films available, but this one transcends the setting. EARTHLINGS cries to be seen... Along with all of Moby s music, some original pieces were also written for the film. http://www.isawearthlings.com/about.html
